We have prints available of the nationally-acclaimed painting by Gilbert Gaul "Battery H at the Battle of Cold Harbor, Virginia.
This print is a copy of the original oil on canvas that hangs in our museum. Originally commissioned as a memorial portrait of the battery members in 1893, Gilbert Gaul's painting was first unveiled in March, 1894 at Memorial Hall in Toledo, Ohio by then Governor William McKinley. Soon after, McKinley was elected the 25th President of the United States.
When our museum obtained this heirloom it had been damaged by a lack of care over the years. The society has restored the painting and proceeds from the sale of these prints will be used to maintain the painting in the years to come.
